Electrolysis made in Baden-Württemberg

A few weeks ago, the completion of the joint project "Electrolysis made in Baden-Württemberg" was celebrated at the Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden Württemberg (ZSW). In cooperation with numerous companies and suppliers, the ZSW has developed an alkaline pressure electrolyzer for hydrogen production with an electrical output of one megawatt, which has now finally received the CE mark.

Our magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps of the LBM series are also used in the plant to convey the potassium hydroxide water mixture in the inner circuit of the electrolyzer. The medium is used for cooling the electrolytic cell. In addition, some of the water from the pumped caustic potash solution is converted into hydrogen and oxygen on the stack. The pumped medium is saturated after the gas separator and tends to outgas when the pressure drops. Due to the special impeller design, the EDUR pump can safely convey and redeem these gas contents.

We are proud that we are part of the project and are very happy about the continuing cooperation.
